As you all know I am going to weight watchers. Well don't let them
give you all that eat your points crap! I done this back last year and I
did not lose a pound in about 4 months time so I stop going. I mean $12
a week to be told that I still weight the same 283 pounds was just crazy
on my part. I am down to 272 on my scale tonight when I got out of the
tub.
I don't count points..yes you heard me right. I am
doing the simple filling technique (simple-fi). That is where you eat
the power foods only and only eat small amounts to just enough so that
you are not hungry. I have found that don't talk much about that but my feelings are they need to. It is seems to be working better for me than counting points plus I don't have to worry
about how much what i ate is in points and all that. I just eat the
power foods. I eat only about 1cup to about 1 1/2 cups of food at time 3
times a but do have a snack or two of fruit or something that is a power food. Our stomach is only suppose to hold around ONE cup of food at a time so that is why I eat that size amount.
There is not much info about the simple- fi part of the program but i wish they would push it more so there would be. I feel that they think people would still over eat to much if they do the simple-fi program. As time goes by I will learn more about it on my own I guess for now tho I can say what I am doing seems to be working for me.
I eat things like Greek yogurt, the big tub kind and take out about 1/2 cup or a cup at time (its cheaper this way anyway). I mix it with Quaker Natural granola (oats, honey and almonds) and some Dole mandarin oranges( plastic jar kind, they are better cold)...........or two boiled/fired eggs, two strip of bacon/turkey bacon and some kind of whole wheat light bread/muffin/ect.
Yes I know Granola is not a power food but it makes the Greek yogurt not so tart. Later I may have to stop eating it but maybe by them I will like the plain Greek yogurt better. (like the one with the fruit already in it tho).
I will list more foods later so come and check out my post. I don't post but about one time a week right now.

weight watchers weighin day again 3.8 pounds
I went to weigh in one day early this week but I still had a 3.8 pound loss. This is not a easy thing to do. I keep telling myself I have to lose a certain amount of weight to get the insurance to pay for the surgery. I have so much to get done for them and I cant wait to get started on all that stuff but it will still be about 3 more months before i cant start that paper work. Some paper work is only good for 6 months so I don't want to start it to early and have to redo it all.
I have gain so much weight because of my breathing and all the steroids I have had to take over the past two years or so. I have not be thin tho in a few years but I was still in the 100's back then..these 200's is for the birds!

Weight Watchers first week
Today was my first weigh-in at weight watchers. I lost 1.4 pounds this week. I would much like to see 4 pounds loss but I will take that. I hope I keep getting a 1 or 2 pounds lost each week for awhile. I would like to say tho that I have not ate all my points because last time I did not lose when I ate all my points. I have to get 30 pounds off in 6 months..I know that sounds doable but I don't lose very good.
Not feeling good today my sinuses are killing me today.

Seminar Day Oct 8,2012
I went to the weight loss seminar for Dr. G Woodman today. I have a lot to do before I will see him in his office. I have to do a 6 month diet that my regular Dr will over see. My insurance pays for most of Weight Watchers cost so I thought that would be a chance to show them that I am really trying. I have to lose about 30 pounds in those 6 months to be approved for the surgery by my insurance.
Don't let your insurance tell you that they don't pay for it because 99% do if your Dr.s says its medically necessary. By that they mean the your family Dr. You will need to be able to give them Dr visit papers from you Dr for the last 5 years showing that you have been over weight that long(more than one Dr if need be). Your insurance will NOT tell you any of the requirements for the surgery to be approved either. Just ask them who the Bariatric Dr.s are that are on their list. Call one the Dr.s they tell you about and see when they are going to have a Seminar. You will learn some good info there, even about your insurance requirements for approval..
When I get about 5 months into weight watchers I have to have a Psychological assessment and a Nutritional assessment. In the mean while I have to get all my paper work from my regular Dr and her statement saying My past history, and recommending me for weight loss surgery and that I am cleared for surgery. these things need to be got toward the end of you 6 month consecutive supervised diet and exercise program. You have to see your Dr every month around the same day(30 days between) for your weight loss diet only. Don't let them put in their notes that you were also saw for a cold or whatever that could be enough for them not to approve you later down the line. So this day is about Weight Loss only!( I know someone that did not get approved for this very reason)
This is the basic for all insurances from what I get HOWEVER some are different. Your bariatric Dr will tell you what you need to do. BUT all do require the 6 month consecutive DR supervised diet. This don't have to be Weight Watchers it what ever you and your family Dr decide on. Most insurance don't require you to lose a certain amount of weight on it but other do.
I am tore between which surgery to have the lap band or the sleeve. Its looking like the sleeve more and more for me but have 6 months to decided.
